Senior Cost Accountant
Our client is a rapidly growing company in the Chicago area that is looking for a Senior Cost Accountant to join their team. This is not just an opportunity to count widgets.
This position is looked at by the Controller to be their right hand person while they undergo specific changes and remapping related to inventory, purchasing and more, within the existing ERP system. This an opportunity to truly put your mark on something, and grow in tandem with a company that’s doubled in revenue since 2019. Given this growth, our client has recently purchased an incredible, new 440,000 square foot facility that they are continuously improving.
The Senior Cost Accountant’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Controller by proposing and implementing changes to procedures and policies.
- Partner with Finance organization to develop budgets and forecasts related to the Cost of Sales.
- Partner with Operations to ensure accuracy of product and project costing for all new and existing products and projects.
- Prepare month-end cost variance analyses for materials, labor, overhead, and freight related to cost and efficiency variances. Determine root causes of variances and provide recommendations and alternatives for improvements.
- Prepare and analyze month-end gross margin results. Correct anomalies, identify trends, and communicate findings.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Effective written and verbal communication skills required.
- Possess a high standard for quality, accuracy, and organization.
- 3+ years “hands on” cost accounting experience.
- Experience enhancing or implementing an ERP system.
