Senior Accountant
Our client is an organization in the Greater Milwaukee area looking for a Senior Accountant. Our client is looking for someone with 5+ years of experience, analytical, and organized. The salary for this position is $80k – $100k.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure current program documentation substantiates program operations.
- Track actual financial results versus budget and communicate with relevant personnel to prevent overspending.
- Analyze and forecast the financial position to ensure compliance with funding sources and communicate findings.
- Oversee general ledger functions and prepare tax reports, including property tax payments, low-income housing tax returns, and other annual reports.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including monthly transactions, asset purchases, disposals, and inventory in accordance with regulations.
- Coordinate financial audits, prepare audited financial statements, manage grant audit reporting, and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Other duties or special projects as needed.
The Senior Accountant will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or financial related area.
- 5+ years of experience, preferably in non-profit or governmental accounting.
- Familiar with Uniform Guidance 2 CFR regulations pertaining to not for profits.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work overtime as needed during the peak & busy seasons.
