Our client is an established infrastructure and industrial company that is looking for a Cost Accounting Manager to join their team. The Cost Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the cost function for the company. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • The Cost Accounting Manager will ensure the accuracy of all product costing information and follow-up on manufacturing/count variances as needed.
  • Analyze the purchase price variance and provide management with information on market price movements, trends, concerns and areas of possible improvement.
  • Determine, analyze and report costs of business projects and record results.
  • Coordinate physical inventory costs and investigate counting variances and resolve issues.
  • Develop and maintain standard costing for all finished goods and revalue the inventory annually.
  • Investigate raw material variances, prompted by manufacturing inefficiencies or physical count errors, on a monthly basis.
  • Calculate the monthly financial accrual for freight, raw materials, and packaging costs.
  • Evaluate the current costing and month-end close process/system and recommend improvements as appropriate.
  • Assist with the monthly financial close process.
  • Provide cost estimates and relevant production factors to marketing and management.
  • Analyze freight expenses, patterns, methods and procedures to support good decision making.
  • The Cost Accounting Manager will assist with other projects as duties as needed.

The Cost Accounting Manager will possess the following:


  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Understanding of cost inventory management/operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, specifically in using Excel.
  • Attention to detail with a drive to improve processes.
