Corporate Controller
Our client is an organization in the Portage County area looking for a Controller. This company is looking for someone with 5+ years of experience, analytical, and has excellent leadership skills. This company provides a collaborative team, a great culture, and competitive benefits. This position is onsite.
The salary for this job is $130k – $150k.
The Controller will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and full compliance with US GAAP.
- Manage the preparation and submission of sales tax returns and other regulatory reports.
- Direct the annual budgeting and long-term forecasting processes.
- Lead and mentor accounting team members, fostering professional development and a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Ensure accurate fixed asset accounting, enforcing company policies and safeguarding assets.
- Own the documentation process for compliance with internal controls and external audits.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Other duties as assigned.
The Controller will possess the following:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or related field. CPA or CMA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Experience in manufacturing or a related industry is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
- Occasional travel may be required.
